Building a
Sustainable Future

Creating harmony with people and nature for more than 125 years, we understand our fingerprints are on the future. Our long-held commitment of Growing for Good, means our success helps to build a sustainable future for our people and the world around us, and ensures the freedom to give back to society.

We have created a new local sustainability strategy to align with the launch of our new multi-beverage business in Oceania, setting out a clearly defined roadmap to deliver on our commitments.

Suntory Group’s sustainability strategy guides us in amplifying our impact across all geographies.

In Oceania, our strategic pillars of Nature, Consumer and Community encourage us to think boldly, collaborating inside and outside our organisation to identify solutions to meet our ambitious goals.

We’re determined to protect our environment, empower our consumers to make responsible choices, and to foster inclusivity and equity through our workplace and value chain.

Nature

Sustained by nature and water, we value and protect the natural resources around us. Across our operations, we are focused on minimising our impact on the environment by reducing our water, climate and packaging footprints and improving the ecosystems where we operate.

Consumer

We are proud to craft drinks that bring joy to consumers, generation after generation. As industry leaders, we champion responsibility and moderation by providing information, offering a variety of choices, and making clear commitments.

Protecting Water for Future Generations

Suntory Oceania has announced a landmark $1M AUD partnership with Griffith University’s Australian Rivers Institute (ARI) to fund critical research and help inform how we protect water for future generations.

The three-year partnership is Suntory’s largest local water commitment to date, expanding on its +125-year commitment to Living In Harmony with People and Nature.

ARI researchers will examine how climate change has impacted Australia’s waterways and whether environmental “safe zones” (Safe and Just Earth System Boundaries) hold true for protecting river and wetland health.

The research team will also draw on evidence from Suntory’s new water replenishment project to be established in Queensland’s Lockyer Valley – one of the nation’s most productive agricultural regions and a vital catchment for the Brisbane River.

This project supports the company’s commitment to replenishing the water used at its Swanbank multi-beverage facility and aligns with Suntory’s global approach to water stewardship, including its Natural Water Sanctuary forests in Japan and watershed conservation initiatives across the United States, Mexico, Scotland, France, Spain and India.
